Dr Lu is a specialist in Gastroenterology, with a subspecialty interest in liver disorders and endoscopic ultrasound.  

She has served full-time in the public sector for 16 years. After obtaining her basic medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2006, she underwent internal medicine and gastroenterology training in National University Hospital. She attained Membership of the Royal College of Physician (MRCP UK) in 2010, Master of Medicine (MMed) in 2011, and gastroenterology specialist accreditation in 2013 respectively.  

Subsequently she pursued further trainings in liver disorders and endoscopic ultrasound overseas under the 2016 Healthcare Manpower Development Programme awarded by Ministry of Health. Upon returning, she developed endoscopic ultrasound service at Ng Teng Fong Hospital, and worked as senior consultant gastroenterologist before leaving for private practice.

She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr Lu is a specialist in gastroenterology with sub-specialisation in hepatology and endoscopic ultrasound. Her subspecialist clinical interests include cirrhosis, fatty liver, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, liver cancers and pancreatobiliary disorders.  

She is an accomplished endoscopist experienced in performing diagnostic and screening scopes such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy including advanced imaging techniques such as narrow-band imaging, and video capsule endoscopy. She also performed therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as polypectomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) insertion, endoscopic treatment of bleeding ulcers, ligation and injection of varices. She built the endoscopic ultrasound service at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and served at the hospital’s endoscopy committee.

  • Dr Lu has authored several peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work at regional and international conferences.

Dr Lu was a clinical lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She received Outstanding Young Undergraduate Tutor Award for year 2014/2015. She was a clinical physician faculty member for the NUHS Gastroenterology Senior Residency Programme and was involved in teaching gastroenterology trainees.

She is also a clinic preceptor to Master of Nursing students.  

She strongly believes in the importance of public awareness and knowledge of digestive diseases, and was invited speaker for IBS Support Group Singapore Public Forum, National Foundation for Digestive Diseases and World Hepatitis Day.
