Dr Ho is a gastroenterologist with a subspeciality interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis) and clinical nutrition. He is a strong advocator for colorectal cancer screening.
He obtained his undergraduate degree in pharmacology at the University College London and spent a fellowship year at Pfizer UK.
Upon graduation from Duke-NUS Medical School, he underwent internal medicine training at SingHealth. He attained membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Master of Medicine in internal medicine. He completed the United States (US) medical licensing examinations and obtained certification by the US educational commission for foreign medical graduates.
He underwent specialist training at National University Hospital (NUH) and was accredited a specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Upon achieving specialist accreditation, Dr Ho moved to Khoo Teck Puat hospital (KTPH) and established the inflammatory bowel disease service.
He was conferred Fellow for Gastroenterology of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

Dr Ho manages digestive conditions such as reflux and heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, piles, bloating, abdominal pain and liver diseases like fatty liver and hepatitis B. He performs endoscopic procedures like gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polyp removal and insertion of feeding tubes and devices like percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy.
Dr Ho’s expertise is in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and clinical nutrition. He was recruited by KTPH to establish the IBD service, where he was clinical lead. He established the IBD subspecialist clinic and day infusion clinic for patients on biologic therapies at KTPH. He sees pediatrics-adult transition IBD patients. He was integral in building a multi-disciplinary IBD team, providing seamless and holistic care for IBD patients. He was a visiting IBD consultant at NUH and he teaches fellow gastroenterologists, senior residents, family physician residents and medical students.
Dr Ho is active in clinical nutrition, running the nutrition support service and manages patients with malnutrition. He is a member of his hospital’s nutrition support team and speaks at nutrition forums. He has written review articles on the role of diet in IBD and strongly believes in the importance of nutrition in digestive health.
Dr Ho was awarded the J.H. Gaddum prize, H.O Schild prize and dean’s list for excellence in pharmacology. He won the presidential poster award at the American College of Gastroenterology annual scientific meeting.
For his education contributions, Dr Ho won the Yishun Health teaching excellence award for postgraduate education and multiple teaching recognition awards.
He has authored several research papers and continues to be a reviewer for several journals. He contributes articles on gastroenterology to ChannelNewsAsia, Straits Times and the local Yishun Health and National Healthcare Group (NHG) lifestyle magazines.
As part of the Chapters of Gastroenterology, Dr Ho contributed to professional guidelines on endoscopy and liver diseases during the COVID pandemic.
Dr Ho is an active educator. He was senior clinical lecturer and gastroenterology teaching lead for the Yong Yoo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM). He is an examiner for YLLSOM final-year medical school examinations.
He was adjunct teaching faculty and clinical teacher for the Lee Kong Chian SOM (LKCSOM) and IBD content expert for LKCSOM in KTPH.
Dr Ho was faculty member of NHG Gastroenterology programme and lecturer for NHG family medicine residency.
He lectures at IBD preceptorships, at GP symposiums and to graduating students at his alma mater.
