About

Dr Loh graduated from University of Malaya in 1999. He had his medical training in Malaysia. He gained vast clinical experience by working in diverse healthcare settings, from rural clinic in aboriginal settlement in palm oil plantation, small town polyclinic to tertiary hospital in big city. This experience helped him to meet people from different backgrounds and made him to understand the different needs and cultures of his patients.

He obtained his membership of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) and Master of Medicine from National University of Singapore in 2006. He subsequently pursued his specialist training in Singapore in gastroenterology and advanced internal medicine. He is one of the few doctors in Singapore who is trained and accredited by Ministry of Health to be specialist in gastroenterology and advanced internal medicine. Before joining private practice in 2017, he worked as a consultant in Changi General hospital.

Clinical Expertise

With his background in both gastroenterology and advanced internal medicine, dr Loh is experienced in managing complex gastroenterology and medical problems. Most digestive and liver conditions are in some ways related to the underlying medical problems. In this respect, Dr Loh is able to provide an holistic approach in the care and management of these conditions.

Dr Loh is experienced in performing diagnostic scopes such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as intervention procedures such as polyp removal, ligaton of piles, banding of swollen vein (varices), stomach feeding tube insertion (PEG), and etc.

He had further training in the care of advanced liver disease and completed his fellowship training in liver transplantation from Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, which is the leading hospital in Asia performing liver transplantation. He was mentored by Professor Chen Chao Long, who is the world pioneer in living donor liver transplantation.

Awards & Research
  • Dr Loh is easy approachable and well versed in several languages. For this, he is well liked by his patients and was accorded several awards for his service excellence. This includes:
    • Singapore Health Quality Service Award Silver Award 2010 
    • Singapore Health Quality Service Award Gold Award 2011 
    • Eastern Health Alliance Caring Award Silver Award 2012
  • Dr Loh published his research work in international journal such as liver transplantation and was invited to present in Asia Pacific, European and international conferences. He was also editorial reviewer of research journal.
Teaching Experience
  • Dr Loh was core faculty for Singhealth Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine Residency programs and involved in the training of young gastroenterologist and medical physician.
  • Dr Loh was clinical senior lecturer for medical students from NUS Yong Loo Lin school of medicine. In acknowledgement of his teaching work, he was given several awards
  • Dr Loh was awarded the Best Educator Award (Medical Undergraduate) CGH 2014 Dean’s award for teaching excellence NUH 2014
